I enjoy cooking, but I prefer recipes that are simple and quick, with just a few ingredients, rather than something overly complicated.
When it comes to bread, I don’t make anything that requires multiple rounds of fermentation or overnight proofing. The other day, for the first time in a while, I made anman (red bean buns) that take only three minutes. These are the only ingredients:
-
Pancake mix – 200 g
-
Silken tofu – 1 block
-
Red bean paste – as needed
Mash the silken tofu in a bowl, add the pancake mix, and knead the dough. Divide it into four pieces, shape them into balls, and fill with red bean paste.
They puff up surprisingly large, so place two buns on a large plate, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 500W for 3 minutes. 😄
They are very simple and delicious. It’s best to eat them while hot, as the bottoms tend to get firm over time. The next day, I reheated the remaining buns in the toaster, and they were still tasty. 😄
